Here’s the dealio: The Pellegrini Carignan is big and fruity, but with the chewy complexity and concentration that old vines provide. Brambly cherries and blackberries with decent acidity and a longish finish. An unusual Rhone varietal not often found in California in its pure (i.e. unblended) form.
